Rice-barn studio with a loft bed. Sleep under the thatch, wake up level with the paddy.
Lumbung Padi is a real rice barn, rebuilt plank by plank by a carpenter from the next village. Downstairs is an open bale for reading and long breakfasts; up a teak ladder, a loft bed sits under the curve of the alang-alang roof.
It is our smallest house and our most requested. Two people, one view, and the sound of water running through the terraces all night.
“The roof is the room.”

From the guest book
“We booked two nights in Lumbung Padi and stayed six. The host’s mother taught us to make canang sari on the first morning.”
